Legislative Summit


There are many important issues being discussed and debated in Washington, D.C., and it's important that our federal delegation hears from and speaks to the business community. Don't miss your chance to participate in this important federal Public Policy event!

On Aug. 16, hear directly from elected officials and others on issues and learn more about the state of the economy and the landscape of the 2012 election.

11 a.m. - Doors Open

12 p.m. Nebraska Luncheon Congressional Report
The afternoon's events will begin with remarks from Chamber leaders, a welcome from Gov. Dave Heineman, and Nebraska's U.S. Senators and Congressman invited to report on federal issues.

1:30 p.m. Forging Nebraska's Future
Richard Baier, from the Nebraska State Chamber, will present a progress report on Forging Nebraska's Future.

2 p.m. Break

2:15 p.m. - State of the Economy
Dr. John Anderson, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Dr. Ernie Goss from Creighton University will discuss factors influencing the regional and national economy. Q&A to follow.

3 p.m. - Election 2012: The Battle for Congress and the White House
Greg W. Baise, from the We Ask America Poll, will report on recent polling and implications for the November elections.


This event is a joint effort of the Greater Omaha Chamber, the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce, Nebraka State Chamber of Commerce and Industry, businesses and elected leaders from across the state.

Cost is $95 per member and $125 per non-member.
